Sunrising over the Yehliu Geopark, on the north coast of Taiwan

Known by geologists as the Yehliu Promontory in Wanli District, New Taipei, Taiwan, Yehliu (Chinese 野柳) forms part of the Daliao Miocene Formation stretching approximately 1,700 metres into the ocean.

One of the largest geological features of the cape is the hoodoo stones on its surface formed by the erosion of seawater.

Each of these rocks has a unique name depending on its shape. The best well known is the "Queen's Head" (女王頭), in addition, there are rocks with different names such as the "Fairy Shoe", the "Beehive", the "Ginger Rocks", and the "Sea Candles".

The stone Queen’s Head, named after the Queen Elizabeth has been eroded at a rate of 0.2 to 0.5 cm per year, and eventually will be broken in the next few years. But this anticipated tragedy helps attract tourists.

因此,他們在地圖上將當地標示為Punto Diablos(在西班牙文中,Punto意為「岬角」、Diablo意為「魔鬼」)。
