HISTORIC WOODEN VESSELS DISCOVERED IN VIETNAM
Two remarkably well-preserved wooden vessels have been unearthed in Thuận Thành, Bắc Ninh Province, Vietnam. Local residents stumbled upon them while renovating a fishpond and promptly alerted authorities.
베트남에서 역사시대 목조 선박을 찾았다 하는데, 이 나라 박닌성 Bắc Ninh Province 투안탄 Thuận Thành에서 놀라울 정도로 잘 보존된 목조 선박 두 척이 발굴되었다고 베트남 문화체육관광부가 18일 발표했다.
지역 주민들이 어항을 보수하던 중 우연히 발견하고 즉시 당국에 신고했다는데 여기도 이 매장법이 독한가 보다.
고고학연구소Institute of Archaeology 에서 발굴을 시작한 결과 선박은 다우 강Dau River을 항해하는 데 사용된 역사적 상선들historic merchant ships일 가능성이 높다는 사실이 밝혀졌다고.
불과 2m 떨어진 지점에서 같이 발견된 이들 선박은 크기가 각각 15m x 2.2m와 14m x 1.6m다.
선수bow에 있는 나무 막대가 선박을 연결하고 있어 두 선박은 영구 연결되어 있었을 가능성이 있다고 본댄다.
전문가들은 선박이 구조적으로 안전하다고 생각하지만, 지속적인 분석을 통해 선박의 연대와 건조에 사용된 목재 유형을 파악하려는 중이랜다.
이들 위치는 티엔덕즈엉 강 Duc-Duong River 근처이며, 고대 루이라우 성채Luy Lau Citadel(주요 무역 중심지)와 가깝다. 이는 이들이 상선이었을 것이라는 이론을 뒷받침한다.
고고학연구소 Pham Van Trieu 박사는 이 발견의 역사적 중요성을 강조했으며, 박닌성 당국은 이 유적을 높이 평가하고 보존하기 위해 추가 연구를 의뢰했다고.
