A hoopoe, distinguished by its bold stripes and long, curved beak, flies from a tree in Pohang, North Gyeongsang Province, southeastern South Korea, on May 1, 2023.
As the shape of its feathers resembles the headdress of an Indian chief, the rare summer bird is also called the "Indian Chief Bird." (Yonhap)
