A school of dace swims upstream in the Namdae Stream in Gangneung, a coastal town in Gangwon Province, northeastern South Korea.
The river fish, called "hwangeo 황어" in Korean, live most of their lives in the sea after being born in a river, and return to the river to lay eggs in March and April.
