Stupa and Buddha Carved on the Rock Surface at Tapgok Valley of Mt. Namsan, Gyeongju, the Capital of the Silla Kingdom / 慶州南山塔谷磨崖造像群 / 경주 남산 탑곡 마애조상군
They are believed to have been carved during the Silla or Unified Silla Kingdom period.
The name of the valley Tapgok, literally the valley of stupas, was named after the rock, on which a stupa are carved.
Mt. Namsan has been a holy mountain for the people of Gyeongju, the capital of Silla since the Silla Dynasty.
