구례읍사무소 Gurye-eup Office

구례읍사무소는 일제 강점기인 1936년에 지은 건물로 건립 이후 줄곧 관공서로 사용하는 건축물이다.

이 건물은 애초에 구례군 청사였는데, 1982년에 군 청사를 이전한 후에 구례읍사무소로 사용한다.

본관 건물은 벽돌 구조로 된 건물이다. 건물 구성이 좌우 대칭이며, 단아해 보인다.

T자형 현관이나 입구 좌우의 별 모양 창문, 정면에 불거져 나온 삼각 지붕 아래의 격자형 채광창 등 다양한 외관이 당대의 건축 양식을 잘
보여준다.

Constructed in 1936 during the Japanese colonial period (1910-1945), this brick building was used as the administrative office of Gurye-gun County until 1982 when
the county office moved to different location.

Since then, it has been used as administrative office of the Gurye-eup Town.

The building features a simple, symmetrical design as well as a portico entrance, double-star-shaped windows, and a gable roof which exemplify 1930s architectural style.
