Violin-shaped bronze dagger found from bronze age dolmen tomb 

 

( Namhae = Yonhapnews ) Two dolmen tombs and a violin-shaped bronze dagger from the the 5th to the 4th century BC Bronze age have been discovered during the national road construction work at Namhae-gun County, Gyeongsangnam-do Province. 




According to archaeologists, a lot of artifacts including a bronze dagger, and earthenware were revealed in the dolmen excavation survey section of the road construction section of the national highway No. 3 line in Changseon-myeon, Namseong-gun County. 


Broken into three pieces, the dagger excavated from one of the two dolmen graves surveyed this time was 27 cm long. 


Considering that violin-shaped bronze daggers are rarely excavated from the Bronze dolmen tombs, the person buried in this grave is presumed to belong to the upper class.
