천항리 석평마을 입구에 있는 반송盤松으로, 일명 '부자나무' 라고 불린다.

줄기 둘레는 4.2m, 높이는 11m에 이른다.

마을 어른들이 어렸을 때도 수령이 600여 년이었다는 증언에 따라, 현재 수령은 약 700년으로 추정한다.

1982년 문화재 지정 당시 조사된 내용에 따르면, 600여 년 전 풍기 지방에 큰 홍수가 났을 때, 석관천石串川을 따라 떠내려 오던 소나무를 마을 사람이 건져 심었고, 그 후 1927년에 이수목李秀睦이라는 사람이 이 나무에게 '석평石坪마을의 영험靈驗 있는 나무' 라는 뜻으로 석송령이라는 이름을 지어 주었다.

또 이수목은 본인이 소유한 토지 3,937제곱미터(약 1.191평)을 상속해 주었는데, 그로 인해 자기 재산을 갖고 세금도 내는 '부자나무' 라고 불리게 되었다.

석송령은 석평마을의 단합과 안녕을 지켜주는 동신목洞神木이다.

마을 사람들은 매년 정월 대보름에 동제洞祭를 지내며, 나무가 소유한 토지 임대료에서 나오는 수익으로 마을 학생들에게 장학금을 지급한다.

Multi-stem pine (Pinus densiflora for. multicaulis Uyeki) is an evergreen coniferous tree in the family of Pinaceae.

It is native to Korea, Japan, and China.

The multi-stem pine is characterized by the way its trunk splits at the base into several branches.

This tree is located at the entrance of Seokpyeong Village in Cheonhyang-ri.

It is presumed to be about 700 years old, based on the accounts by elderly villagers who were told in their youth that the tree was 600 years old.

It measures 4.2 m in circumference and 11 m in height.

According to the survey conducted in 1982 when the tree was designated as cultural heritage, this tree is said to have been planted here in the late 14th century.

At that time, there was flood in this area, and this tree was floating down the Seokgwancheon Stream.

The locals pulled it out and planted it here.

In 1927, a local man named Yi Su-mok gave the tree its name, meaning "the pine tree spirit of Seokpyeong Village" and bequeathed 3,937 sq. m of land to this tree.

From then on, this tree was nicknamed "the rich tree,"as it owned land and even paied taxes.

The locals believe that this tree spiritually protects the vilage, and they perform a ritual in front of it on the day of the first full moon of the lunar year.

Students of this village are also provided scholarships through the collection of rental fees for use of the land owned by the tree.
