BLACKPINK's lead vocalist Rose's first solo album has surpassed 400,000 pre-orders so far.
YG Entertainment announced on the 9th that as of Monday, Rose's first single album "R" has exceeded 400,000 pre-orders worldwide. They also explained that this was the largest pre-order record for a Korean female solo artist to achieve.
On January 31st, BLACKPINK held their first online concert, "BLACKPINK: THE SHOW", where Rose revealed her sub-title song "Gone". The artist also raised fans' interest by posting the music video teaser for her title song "On The Ground".
While Rose participated in writing both "On The Ground" and "Gone", other well-known producers including Teddy, who wrote many of BLACKPINK's hit songs, Jorgen Odegard, who produced songs for Justin Bieber and Tori Kelly, as well as Ojibolta, 24, and Brian Lee, have all collaborated to complete Rose's single album.
After BLACKPINK's Jennie released her first solo single, "SOLO" in 2018, Rose is the second member of BLACKPINK to perform as a solo artist. Rose's album is also titled as "R", the first letter of Rose's name in honor of her new beginning as a solo artist.
