Thirteen-storied Stone Stupa at the Site of Jeonghyesa Temple, gyeongju, Korea
Believed to have been erected around the 9th century, the late Unified Silla period, located at Oksan-ri, Angang-eup, Gyeongju, Gyeongsangbuk-do, the stupa was designated as National Treasure No. 40 of the Republic of Korea on December 20, 1963.
It has a thirteen-story stupa on top of a foundation built of dirt, which is an unique type that no similar case can be found in other Silla stupas.
Compared to the huge body stone on the first floor, from the second floor, both the body and the roof stones begin to shrink sharply, so the stories over the second floor looks like a headdress attached to the first floor.
At the four corners of the large first floor body stone, square pillars were erected, and auxiliary columns were placed inside them to form doors.
The basement stone is 2m wide and the total height of the tower is 5.9m.
