영국을 구성하는 Historic counties의 어미별 분포도

 
우리가 편의상 영국이라 하는 나라는 전체 면적이 대략 남북한을 합친 그것과 아주 비슷하다.

그 생성 내력을 보면 복잡다기하기만 해서 끊임없이 생성 변모 중이다. 

어찌됐건 21세기 현재를 기준으로 그 지방행정편제를 보면 Historic counties라 해서 역사적 연원이 나름 각기 있는 기초지자체가 골격을 이룬다.

이 히스토록 카운티가 영국에는 모두 92군데가 있는 것으로 집계되는데, 이를 광역별로 세분하면

Scotland (34)
Wales (13)

가 된다. 


한데 이 Historic counties는 그 명칭을 보면 어미가 독특해서 다음과 같은 말이 주로 붙는다.
