고대 이집트인들은 돌과 청동으로 도구와 무기를 만들었다. 최초의 도구는 석회암층에서 발견되는 규질암으로 만들었다. 선왕조시대에 이집트인들은 구리와 비소를 섞어 청동을 만들었다. 두 재료는 고대 이집트 역사에서 계속 사용되었다.

The ancient Egyptians created tools and weapons from stone and from bronze. The earliest tools, such as this knife, were created from chert, a stone found within limestone deposits.

The Egyptians also learned to mix copper and arsenic to form bronze during the Predynastic period. Both materials were used throughout ancient Egyptian history.

 

조만간 비파형동검 원류는 고대 이집트라는 신설이 나오겠군.

국립중앙박물관이 미국 브루클린박물관에서 장기 대여해 세계문화관 중 이집트실에 전시하기 시작한 고대이집트 청동검이다.
