돌덩이라 단단하나, 내용은 차지고 말랑말랑 《단단한 고고학》 세상 모든 책은 오직 두 부류가 있을 뿐이다. 김태식이 읽은 책과 김태식이 읽지 아니한 책이다. 전자는 다시 두 가지로 세분하는데 첫째 김태식이 인정한 책, 둘째 김태식이 인정하지 아니한 책 이것이 있을 뿐이다. 따라서 세상 모든 책은 오직 이 네 가지가 있을 뿐이다. 김태식이 읽은 책으로 김태식이 인정한 책은 가뭄에 나는 콩 같아 희귀하기만 하다. 그에서 저 단단한 책은 어디에 위치하는가? 첫째 내가 읽은 책이요 둘째 내가 인정한 책이다. 그래서 저 책은 가뭄 끝에 솟아난 콩싹 같기만 하다. 어떤 점에서 그런가? 구석기라 해서 그 구닥다리 나는 주제로 이토록 쉽게 이야기를 풀어간 시도는 단군 이래 없었다. 세계 무대로 옮겨가면 어떨지 모르나, 적어도 국내에서는 이토록 쉽게 구석기를 다가간 책이 없다. .. 2023. 5. 17.

실물 공개 시작한 귀환 대동여지도 어떤 곡절로 해외로 반출됐다가 귀환한 대동여지도가 오늘부터 국립고궁박물관 특별전시실서 한달간인가 공개된다. 사전에 시간을 두고 준비한 전시회는 아니기에 전시가 아주 단촐해서 실물로 하나로 엮은 지도 원본에다 그걸 실물 크기로 바닥에 복제한 두 점으로 넓은 전시실을 채웠으니 꼭 꽉찬 냉장고 같아야겠는가? 이것저것 잡다한 데 신경 쓸 겨를 없어 이른바 여백 혹은 여유를 좋아하는 사람들한테는 외려 편안함을 주리라 본다. 실물은 요런 식으로 깔았고 복제본은 요런 식으로 바짝에 붙여놨다. 본래 쪼가리쪼가리인 판데기 전체를 붙이면 이렇다. 제주도랑 명문 부분을 보면 이렇다. 비름빡엔 대동여지도 감상하는 방법과 그 개요를 이런 판넬로 걸었다. 시간들 내시어 왕림하시어 김정호와 고산자를 만나 보라 권하고 싶다. 2023. 5. 16.
