#페르시아세밀화

국립중앙박물관 상설전시관 세계문화관 인도·동남아실에 전시된 페르시아 세밀화는 문학, 미술, 서예가 결합한 페르시아 고유의 회화 장르입니다.

일반적으로 문학작품 필사본의 삽화로 그려졌지만, 초상화와 같이 독립된 주제가 제작되기도 했고, 술탄 등의 지배자나 상인, 부유한 시민의 주문으로 만드는 경우가 많았지만, 판매를 위한 상업용 세밀화도 제작되었습니다.

11세기 초에서 14세기 중반에 걸쳐 페르시아 세밀화의 기술과 양식이 크게 발전했고, 특히 사파비 왕조(1501~1736) 때에는 궁정 공방 체계가 갖춰져  뛰어난 필사본 삽화들이 많이 그려졌습니다.

 
Persian miniature paintings refer to a typical genre of Persian paintings that combined literature, figurative art, and calligraphy.

Persian miniatures are generally illustrations of manuscripts for literature, while single-page paintings such as portraits were also produced.

Sultans, merchants, and wealthy people were the prominent patrons of Persian miniatures that commissioned them.

Commercial paintings were also produced for sale at the same time.

Techniques and styles of Persian miniatures show dramatic development at the beginning of the 11th to the mid-14th century, followed by the production of numerous outstanding manuscripts based on the systems of royal atelier in the Safavid dynasty (1501-1736).
