수표 水標 Water Level Gauge 수표 水標 Water Level Gauge 18세기 18th Century 복제 Replica 가뭄과 홍수를 대비하기 위해 하천 물높이를 재는 측량기구로, 몸체에는 1척부터 10척까지 눈금이 표시되는데, 3척 이하는 가뭄, 9척 이상은 홍수의 위험을 알려주게 되어 있다. 처음에는 나무로 만들었는데, 쉽게 상하는 단점이 있어 돌로 바꾸었다. 수표는 조선 세종 23년(1441)에 처음 만들어 청계천 마전교馬廛橋(나중에 수표교水標橋로 이름이 바뀜) 서쪽에 세워졌다. 이곳에 전시된 수표는 영조(재위 1724~1776) 때 다시 제작해 청계천 수표교 앞에 세운 것을 1997년에 복제한 것으로, 1960년에 청계천 복개 공사 때 수표교와 함께 장충단 공원으로 옮긴 것을 세종대왕기념관에 보관 중이다.
