What is History?

삼국사기

역사란 간택받은 기억들이 각축하는 티키타카다.

선택은 필연적으로 망각과 유배를 동반한다.

역사가의 책무 중 하나는 그런 선택적 기억에서 망각한 것들을 구출과 유배의 해제다. 

언제나 말하지만 

역사가 승자의 기록이라는 말은 틀렸다. 

역사란

기록을 남긴 자의 기록이다. 


History is a Tiki-taka where selected memories are competing with each other.

The selected memories are inevitably followed by oblivion and exile.

One of the historian's responsibilities is to rescue and de-exile what has been forgotten in such selective memorization.  

As I always say, it is wrong to say that history is written by the winners. 

History is nothing more than the records of those who wrote them.
