경혜인빈상시호죽책敬惠仁嬪上諡號竹冊, 장인이 새긴 왕실의 특별한 이름

조선시대에는 왕비 왕세자 왕세손 등을 책봉하거나 왕 왕비 세자 후궁 등에게 특별한 이름(존호나 시호)을 올릴 때 그 사실이 담긴 기록물, 즉 어책御冊이 제작되었다.

왕 왕비의 경우는 옥玉으로 제작되어 옥책玉冊, 왕세자 후궁의 경우는 대나무로 만들어져 죽책竹冊이라고 했다.

어책은 그 시대 최고의 기량을 가진 남녀 장인들 100명 이상이 최고의 재료를 국가로부터 제공받아 재료의 가공부터 마지막 기물의 완성에 이르기까지 긴밀한 협업을 통해 제작하는 최고 수준의 왕실 공예품이기도 했다.

In the Joseon dynasty royal investiture books were published whenever a queen, crown prince or the eldest son of the crown prince was appointed, or when an honorific name or posthumous title was bestowed upon a king, queen, crown prince or royal concubine.

These were made of jade for kings and queens, and bamboo for crown princes and royal concubines.

Royal investiture books were considered royal craft of utmost importance, produced through close collaboration among over 100 male and female artisans with the best skills of that era.

They were provided with the highest quality materials by the state and worked together on every process, from the processing of materials through to the completion of the final articles.

Bamboo investiture book

조선 제14대 왕 선조의 후궁이자 인조의 할머니인 인빈 김씨(1555~1613년)에게 1755년(영조 31년) 시호諡號를 올릴 때 제작한 것이다.

옷칠이 된 6개의 대나무 조각으로 하나의 첩帖을 만들고, 다시 둥근 고리로 10개의 첩을 엮었다.

각 첩의 위아래는 붉은 천으로 감싼 후 동銅에 수은아말감 기법
으로 금도금해 넝쿨 무늬를 조이질 한 변철邊鐵을 그 위에 둘렸다.

시책문은 금가루를 아교에 개 금니金泥를 채워 장식했다.

죽책을 감싸는 갑匣과 각 첩 사이에 끼워져 마찰로 인한 훼손을 막는 격유보隔유褓가 함께 보존되어 있다.

이 죽책은 <조선왕실 어보와 어책>에 포함되어 유네스코 세계기록유산에 등재된 죽책 41책과 제작형식 재료 문양 등이 동일
하나 크기가 가장 크다.

This bamboo investiture book was produced when Royal Noble Consort Inbin of the Suwon Kim clan(1555-1613), concubine of King Seonjo and grandmother of King Injo, was granted a posthumous title in 1755.

Six pieces of lacquered bamboo were used to make each of the ten documents, which were then joined together
with round rings.

The top and bottom of each document were wrapped with red cloth and then gold-plated, with a mercury amalgam technique applied to the bronze and a vine-patterned metal edge wrapped around it.

The posthumous statement was decorated with gold paint.

The book cover and soft wrapping cloth placed between each document to prevent damage caused by friction are also preserved.

This book followed the same production format, materials and design as the 4 1 remaining bamboo investiture books for kings, queens, crown princes, and royal concubines, but it is the largest in size.
